About us

Purpose

Kind Enterprises was founded by Erfan Daliri and Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM as a way to bring decades of experience in community development, human rights advocacy, social work, and multicultural affairs, together into one synthesized theory of change for the purpose of building organisational capacity for positive social action.

Applying a systems thinking methodology, with a Baha’i-inspired lens on social justice, and drawing from academic expertise and professional experience, Kind Enterprises was intentionally crafted as an organisation to drive social change through the establishment of the principles of truth, justice, equity and oneness.

Mission

Drawing from Paolo Friere’s theory of Conscientisation, Kimberlee Crenshaw’s Intersectionality, Post-Colonialism and Critical Race Theory, amongst others, with a First Nations first, approach, Kind Enterprises values academic rigour, lived experience expertise and the ultimate goal of lasting unity built on justice, over politicised and divisive social media informed training and consulting services that often do more harm than good.

With a BIPOC team of life-long academics, expert senior consultants and facilitators, led by First Nations oversight and advice, Kind Enterprises is committed to maintaining the integrity and leadership they are known for, and called upon for by peak bodies, public institutions, government departments and international NGOs.

The Back Story

Dr Farvardin Daliri began his community development work long before he arrived in Australia, beginning his community empowerment and development work in the 10 years he spent as a refugee in India. By the time he came to Australia in 1984 with wife Lida and son Erfan, he had already initiated over a hundred volunteer run community schools.

He continued to serve diverse and marginalised communities as soon as he arrived, first as the Manager of the Migrant Resource Centre of Devonport, then the Migrant Resource Center of Townsville. He committed 40 years to the service of Unity in Diversity in Australia, driving equity in the area of multiculturalism and advocacy for First Nations justice, eventually being awarded the Order of Australia medal. His PhD research in the field of Education looked into the marginalisation and systemic racism faced by Aboriginal students in Nth Queensland.

His son Erfan followed in his footsteps, and began working in community development and youth empowerment in 2001, between remote community development work, youth work, workshop facilitation and festival curation, Erfan studied Infomechatronic Engineering at QUT, eventually earning his Masters in Communication for Social Change from UQ. He has since published multiple books, founded Newkind Social Change Conference and is currently the Chair of the Centre for Social Equity.

Our Approach

Our approach to anti-racism, racial equity and social cohesion is built on the principle of the inherent oneness of humanity and a firm belief in a shared collective destiny, and a commitment to the elimination of all forms of prejudice so we can arrive at peace, unity and prosperity.

At Kind Enterprises, we combine a restorative justice lens and a trauma-informed approach with a genuine desire for global peace and prosperity.

Because of this approach, we believe that when issues of racism, cohesion, inequity or discrimination are approached through a collectivist framework solutions are more readily identifiable and implementable.

Our Method

Kind Enterprises exists to create a more just, equitable and cohesive society for all through collectivism.

Our theory of change revolves around the concept of ‘Conscientisation” which in brief believes that all forms of social change require the empowerment of the individual and their self-initiated awakening to higher levels of self-awareness.

This means our training and consulting services, focus on the activation of the collective through the empowerment of the individual. This draws from Systems Thinking methods, Conscientisation theory and ideas of accountability, responsibility for each other, and understanding of power dynamics.

We believe if integrity and honesty are present in the desire for positive action, then no barrier can stand in the way. Through customised professional development and consulting services, we design systems thinking approachs to complex challenges such as racial equity, climate action, gender equality and socioeconomic justice; empowering organisations with tools to contribute more effectively towards a just, kind and equitable society.

Our Vision

Our vision is of a world built on the guiding principles of justice, equity, kindness and cohesion.

We believe it’s time to reimagine everything. From community life, education and employment, to policy, economics, social systems, and the way humanity looks after the planet.

We collaborate, educate and work towards social, racial, economic and environmental justice.

We advocate, advise and champion human rights, access, equity and First Nations sovereignty.

We design, teach and apply systems thinking for social change.

We believe in a world that is united, peaceful and prosperous.
